Litigation Practice Support Lawyer

Job Overview:

A prominent law firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Practice Support Lawyer (PSL) to assist with supporting the firm’s four litigation subgroups: Patent Litigation, IP & Complex Litigation, Securities Litigation, and Employment Litigation. This role involves creating and managing model documents and forms, developing and organizing knowledge resources, implementing and promoting legal technology, and preparing and delivering training. Additionally, the PSL will handle the management and drafting of both internal and external content for the practice areas. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with flexibility to work remotely and from the office, based on business requirements.

Duties:

• Model Documents and Forms:

  • Create, maintain, and promote model documents, forms, precedents, and drafting guidance.

  • Ensure documents are easily accessible and meet practice area requirements.

  • Develop client- and jurisdiction-specific templates for court filings.

  • Identify forms suitable for automation and collaborate with the Knowledge and Innovation team on automation initiatives.

• Knowledge Management and Innovation:

  • Organize and promote strategies to make practice content accessible to attorneys.

  • Assist in locating practice-related internal and external knowledge resources.

  • Build and maintain key practice information repositories, including judge and expert data.

  • Collaborate with the Knowledge and Innovation team to implement technology tools, including AI, for enhanced practice efficiency.

• Training:

  • Work with the Attorney Training team to develop and present legal skills training programs.

  • Assist in preparing presentation materials for training sessions and practice group meetings.

  • Mentor junior attorneys in presentation skills and substantive content.

  • Ensure that training materials are archived and accessible for attorneys.

• Internal and External Content Development:

  • Analyze internal and external materials to identify market trends and best practices.

  • Create and maintain content for marketing and business development, such as client alerts, articles, case studies, and presentations.

  • Stay current on legal developments, state and federal laws, and case law, updating resources as necessary.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in a litigation practice within a law firm, preferably in Patent, IP, Securities, or Employment Litigation.

• Strong legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.

• Experience with legal technologies and project management tools is advantageous.

• Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple projects.

• Excellent communication, client service, and interpersonal skills.

• Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships with attorneys, staff, and clients.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in good standing (state-specific).
