Litigation Associate

Job Overview:

A reputable law firm is seeking an Associate with 2-6 years of complex business and commercial litigation experience to join its Business Litigation Practice Group in the Indianapolis, IN office. The ideal candidate will have experience in written discovery, depositions, drafting pleadings and motions, attending mediations and court appearances, and assisting at trial. The candidate should possess a strong academic background, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Location:

• Indianapolis, IN

Duties:

• Manage written discovery, depositions, and draft pleadings and substantive motions for business and commercial litigation cases.
• Attend mediations, court appearances, and provide assistance at trial.
• Conduct legal research and provide detailed analysis.
• Work closely with senior attorneys on case strategy and case management.
• Collaborate with team members to meet case deadlines and ensure effective communication.
• Contribute to the preparation of legal documents and trial materials.

Requirements:

• 2-6 years of complex business and commercial litigation experience.
• Experience with written discovery, depositions, and drafting pleadings and motions.
• Familiarity with attending mediations, court appearances, and trial support.
• Strong academic record and excellent research and writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active state bar membership in the state of Indiana.

Skills:

• Strong research and writing abilities.
• Proficiency in handling business and commercial litigation cases.
• Experience in attending court appearances and assisting in trial preparation.
