A law firm in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Family Law Attorney.

 

Job Overview:

The Family Law Attorney will manage a diverse caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with the Family Law Team. The attorney will provide legal counsel in family law matters, represent clients in court, and prepare legal documents.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, and adoption.
  • Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations in family law matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, agreements, and court orders.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and mediation sessions.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in family law.
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in and out of court.
  • Prepare and present cases to judicial officials.
  • Collaborate with the Family Law Team, including paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate case files and documentation.
  • Provide compassionate and effective communication with clients throughout their case.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to the State Bar (New Mexico preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in family law (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Proven experience managing a caseload and representing clients in family law matters.
  • Strong knowledge of family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, and adoption.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar (New Mexico preferred).

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in case management software (preferred).
