Job Overview

A reputable law firm in Houston, TX, seeks an experienced Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney to join its Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. This position offers an opportunity to engage in complex commercial litigation and represent clients in insurance coverage matters. The ideal candidate has a strong background in insurance disputes, handling all phases of litigation, including factual investigations, discovery, pleadings, depositions, mediation, and client communications.

Duties

• Conduct thorough legal research and provide detailed analysis for litigation cases.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and other essential legal documents.
• Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Manage and prioritize a diverse caseload, ensuring timely progression.
• Collaborate closely with partners on multifaceted litigation cases.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, judges, mediators, and arbitrators.
• Participate in strategic discussions and assist in case planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in insurance coverage litigation.
• Experience handling disputes across various insurance types, including general liability, pollution liability, marine, directors and officers, professional liability, and errors and omissions.
• Proficiency in reviewing commercial insurance policies and drafting coverage evaluations and reservation of rights letters.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with a strong academic record.

Certifications

• Admission to the Texas State Bar.
