Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Sacramento is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney with a minimum of three years of immigration law experience. This role offers significant potential for career growth, where the candidate will handle a diverse caseload, represent clients in immigration proceedings, and collaborate closely with a team of legal professionals.

Duties:

• Represent detained and non-detained clients in immigration court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Conduct consultations with potential clients to determine strategic immigration solutions.
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.
• Manage and oversee a caseload of immigration matters.
• Conduct intake and consultations with detained individuals at detention centers.
• Draft and file diverse immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits in client cases.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration-related issues.
• Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications and related documentation.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience practicing immigration law.
• Proven ability to manage and move legal cases forward efficiently.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
• Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the state bar.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California Bar is required.

Skills:

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and case management abilities.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using case management software (preferred).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a legal team.
