A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Managed Care Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, particularly in managed care or health care. This role demands excellent academic credentials, robust writing, research, analytical, and verbal communication skills. The attorney will manage multiple cases, handle regulatory and compliance issues, and serve as the primary client contact, coordinating effectively with other associates and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and litigate cases involving managed care and health care issues.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing legal counsel and updates on case status.
  • Coordinate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure effective case management and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Handle complex commercial litigation and arbitration, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, managing discovery, and preparing for trial.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on regulatory and compliance matters related to managed care.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, and arbitration hearings.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on managed care and health care laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and build client relationships through effective communication and counsel.
  • Stay updated on changes in managed care and health care laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing of the California State Bar.
  • 2-3 years of law firm or relevant in-house experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration.
  • Required experience in managed care or health care.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and handle regulatory or compliance matters.
  • Significant case management and/or client counseling experience preferred.

  • Excellent academic credentials with a strong track record of legal writing, research, and analysis.
  • Effective verbal communication and client counseling skills.
  • Proficiency in managing complex litigation and arbitration processes.
