A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney with 1 to 5 years of experience to join its active employment litigation practice in Des Moines or Cedar Rapids. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in employment law, excellent research and writing abilities, and a passion for advocating on behalf of clients. This position offers the chance to engage with a diverse array of employment law matters, encompassing litigation, compliance, and advisory services.

Duties

  • Handle a variety of employment law cases, including litigation and compliance issues.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including employment-related agreements and court filings.
  • Provide legal advice and counseling to clients on employment matters.
  • Represent clients in employment litigation, agency complaints, and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies and ensure quality representation.
  • Maintain organization and manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Iowa Bar or eligibility for waiver into Iowa; willingness to sit for the next bar exam is also acceptable.
  • 1-5 years of experience in employment litigation or a related legal field.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and relevant case law.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and teamwork.
  • High level of professionalism and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Commitment to advocacy throughout all phases of litigation and client counseling.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.
