A law firm seeks an experienced Estate Planning Attorney with a strong background in business development to join its team in Plano, TX. This role is ideal for an attorney who is confident, ethical, and passionate about client relationships, with a drive for personal and professional growth. The successful candidate will not only handle estate planning legal work but will also focus heavily on business development, utilizing sales and relationship-building skills to help drive the firm’s growth. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and marketing teams, contributing to the firm's success in both legal and business aspects.

Duties:

  • Business Development (65%)
    • Deliver a 1-hour and 15-minute seminar on estate planning topics at least eight times a month.
    • Identify and cultivate business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) relationships to expand the firm’s client base.
    • Manage and execute the firm’s business development initiatives, collaborating with the managing partner and marketing teams to align efforts with firm goals.
    • Coordinate external speaking opportunities, including events, conferences, and webinars.
    • Ensure all marketing materials and firm collateral are aligned with the firm’s strategic business development goals.
  • Estate Planning Legal Work (25%)
    • Maintain expert knowledge of the firm’s estate planning services and current legal practices.
    • Draft and prepare estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and business planning documents, to meet client needs.
    • Host client meetings to discuss estate planning services and provide legal advice.
  • Administrative Responsibilities (10%)
    • Track and manage the firm’s lead pipeline and client care initiatives.
    • Monitor and report on business development activity and revenue generation, ensuring alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs).

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the State Bar of Texas in good standing.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role focused on revenue growth.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-attorneys in simple terms.
  • Previous experience in public speaking, with the ability to deliver engaging presentations.
  • High level of self-motivation, independence, and ability to achieve success through measurable KPIs.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong client service orientation with the ability to build long-lasting relationships.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Membership in the State Bar of Texas, in good standing.
