Job Overview

A law firm is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney. The ideal candidate will manage cases, communicate effectively with clients, and drive cases toward resolution. This role offers flexibility with hybrid or remote work options and a generous benefits package.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload involving workers' compensation defense cases.
  • Prepare discovery, file motions, and pleadings, and negotiate settlements.
  • Communicate with clients at least every 30 days, providing case updates and addressing concerns.
  • Attend court appearances, conduct depositions, and develop strategic plans of action for each case.
  • Ensure timely progress and resolution of all assigned cases.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in handling workers' compensation cases.
  • Experience with insurance claims is preferred.
  • Subrogation or civil litigation experience is advantageous but not required.
  • Experience with liens is preferred, though not essential as lien specialists are available.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications and Skills

  • Active Bar membership in good standing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent client service abilities and interpersonal skills.
  • High organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient in managing deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment.
