Job Overview: A multi-state litigation firm is seeking a results-oriented Associate Attorney to join its legal team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in handling consumer collection cases, advocating for clients throughout the legal process. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for litigating cases, negotiating settlements, and managing case files while ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks.

Duties:

  • Advocate for clients in court and manage all aspects of the litigation lifecycle in consumer collection cases.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel and pro se parties to achieve favorable resolutions.
  • Conduct legal research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations relevant to collection litigation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Document account and case activity in accordance with firm policies and client guidelines.
  • Travel to courts within the state to represent clients in legal proceedings.
  • Attend continuing education courses to stay current on changes in laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies and identify solutions.

Requirements:

  • Active law license in the state of practice, with no disciplinary history.
  • Experience or interest in consumer collection litigation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the civil litigation process and consumer protection laws.
  • Strong time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and lead initiatives to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, suitable for a wide range of audiences.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
