Job Overview

A nationally recognized civil litigation law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Workers' Compensation practice group in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. This opportunity is ideal for a self-starting attorney with a strong background in workers' compensation law, exceptional research and writing skills, and the ability to manage cases independently while collaborating within a supportive team environment.

  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Duties

  • Conduct legal analysis and file review of workers’ compensation claims

  • Perform extensive legal research and draft discovery, client correspondence, legal memoranda, and appellate briefs

  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and proceedings before the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Board

  • Prepare for and attend trials and hearings

  • Retain and evaluate expert witnesses for case development

  • Ensure timely communication with clients and responsiveness to inquiries

  • Maintain an annual billable requirement of 1,950 hours

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing attorney

  • Demonstrated experience in workers' compensation or related litigation practice

  • Proven ability to manage caseloads with minimal supervision

  • Excellent client service skills and responsiveness to case-related communications

  • Strong time management and organizational abilities

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Pennsylvania (required)

  • Admission in additional jurisdictions is a plus
