A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Income Partner with extensive expertise in global patent prosecution and opinion work within the life sciences sector. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in patent prosecution and counseling, including familiarity with licensing and agreement work. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage global patent prosecution efforts, with a focus on life sciences and biotech industries.
• Provide expert legal counsel on patent matters, including the preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent applications.
• Offer strategic legal opinions on complex patent issues to ensure robust protection of clients’ intellectual property.
• Oversee patent licensing and agreement negotiations, ensuring compliance with legal standards and favorable outcomes for clients.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, delivering strategic advice and tailored solutions on intellectual property matters.

• Mentor and guide junior attorneys and support staff on intellectual property law and practice.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
• PhD in biological sciences preferred.
• Must be licensed to practice law in the state of New York.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in intellectual property law, with a strong background in life sciences and biotech.
• Proven expertise in global patent prosecution and counseling.
• Familiarity with patent licensing and agreement work preferred.
• Superior academic record with excellent written and oral communication skills.
