A law firm is seeking a skilled and dedicated Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Cleveland, OH. The ideal candidate will have experience in defending and litigating a broad range of employment-related claims and will represent employers in various legal settings. This role requires excellent academic credentials, a strong understanding of employment laws, and the ability to provide strategic counsel to employers.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination.
  • Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration in employment matters, including class/collective actions and discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases.
  • Provide advice and counsel to employers on a wide range of labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs, and engage in discovery processes.
  • Participate in and conduct depositions, pre-trial motions, trials, and hearings.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of effective litigation strategies.
  • Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and trends in employment law to provide accurate and timely counsel.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure cohesive and comprehensive legal representation.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Active Ohio Bar admission or ability to obtain admission quickly.
  • A minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for candidates with an employment law background.
  • Understanding of current court and employment-related agency (state and federal) procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork, along with the ability to work independently on various projects.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active Ohio Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission quickly.

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
