A law firm in Great Falls, MT, is seeking a Mid-Level Family Law Attorney I with a robust background in family law. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of legal experience, including mediation and trial experience, and will be adept at researching and analyzing complex legal issues. The role requires excellent writing and communication skills, a proactive approach to client development, and a commitment to managing a busy practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mediation and Trial Experience: Participate in mediation and trial proceedings; mediation experience is highly preferred, with trial experience also valued.
  • Legal Research and Writing: Research and analyze the law on complex family law issues, writing memorandums, briefs, letters, and other legal documents.
  • Client Marketing: Market personal and firm services to prospective clients, including developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Discovery and Due Diligence: Perform discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies in preparation for litigation; conduct due diligence in legal matters related to contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Client Communication: Communicate and advise clients effectively, managing a schedule to accommodate consultations and meet production/collection objectives.
  • Consult Closure: Close consults within Gravis range of 30-50%, depending on the practice area, and ensure timely and accurate invoice approval.
  • Staff Management: Ensure support staff are fully utilized and productive, and accurately update client and financial information.
  • Brand Expansion: Actively engage in personal and firm brand expansion through blogs, social media, board participation, and seek positive reviews from successful client engagements.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other job-related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the firm’s success.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience practicing family law.
  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
  • Licensure: Active membership in good standing with the Montana State Bar.
  • Skills: Excellent legal research and writing skills, with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Additional Qualifications: Mediation experience preferred; trial experience is valued. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
