Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, seeks a skilled and motivated Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of employment litigation experience, including proficiency in trade secret and restrictive covenant matters, employee handbook and policy revision, and both single-plaintiff and class-action work.

Duties:

  • Conducting employment litigation and providing legal representation in various labor and employment law matters.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Advising clients on employment-related legal issues, such as discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, and employee benefits.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis on complex labor and employment law issues.
  • Assisting in the preparation for trials, hearings, and depositions.
  • Collaborating with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and client management.
  • Contributing to client development and maintaining client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar and in good standing.
  • 2-3 years of experience in employment litigation, focusing on trade secrets, restrictive covenants, and class actions.
  • Experience with employee handbook and policy revision.
  • Strong academic credentials, with high grades in relevant coursework.
  • Prior experience in a reputable law firm, preferably BigLaw.
  • Admission to the Bar of a State surrounding Illinois is a plus.

  • Proficient in legal research methods and resources.
