A law firm is seeking an experienced Trademark Attorney to join its intellectual property practice. This role is ideal for a seasoned legal professional with a portable book of business of at least $200,000 and a proven ability to navigate the complexities of U.S. and international trademark law. The attorney will handle a broad range of brand protection matters, including trademark prosecution, enforcement, licensing, and litigation before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).

This opportunity is remote or hybrid, allowing flexibility while maintaining engagement with a highly skilled legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trademark & Copyright Protection: Advise clients on intellectual property rights, oversee trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement, and provide strategic brand management counsel.
  • Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Represent clients in TTAB proceedings, domain name disputes (both in court and ICANN arbitration), and other IP-related litigation.
  • Online & Global Brand Protection: Monitor and enforce trademark rights against infringement, counterfeiting, and unauthorized use across digital platforms.
  • Intellectual Property Transactions: Structure, negotiate, and draft agreements for licensing, co-existence, and assignment of trademark and copyright rights.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee U.S. and international trademark portfolios, ensuring compliance with global regulations and industry best practices.
  • Client Advisory & Strategy Development: Work directly with businesses of all sizes, from startups to multinational corporations, to develop comprehensive brand protection strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive Trademark Law Experience: 7+ years of experience handling trademark prosecution, clearance, enforcement, and transactional IP matters.
  • USPTO & TTAB Expertise: Direct involvement in trademark applications, office actions, appeals, and opposition/cancellation proceedings.
  • IP Licensing & Transactions: Demonstrated ability to negotiate and structure trademark and copyright licensing agreements.
  • Strong Analytical & Communication Skills: Must possess exceptional legal research, contract drafting, and client counseling abilities.
  • Motivated & Results-Driven: A self-starter who can work independently while thriving in a collaborative legal environment.
  • Bar Membership: Active membership and good standing in the Bar(s) of applicable jurisdiction(s).
