Job Overview: A law firm specializing in energy and public utility regulatory law is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join their team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have 0-2 years of relevant experience in energy or public utility regulation, excellent academic credentials, and a proactive approach to legal research and writing.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research on energy and public utility regulatory matters.
  • Draft memoranda, pleadings, and other legal documents related to regulatory filings and proceedings.
  • Assist in representing clients in regulatory proceedings before federal and state agencies.
  • Analyze complex regulatory issues and provide strategic advice to clients.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting energy and public utility sectors.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • 0-2 years of experience in energy or public utility regulatory law.
  • Admitted to the DC Bar and in good standing; admission to the New York or New Jersey Bar is a plus.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
  • Proven ability to exercise professional judgment and problem-solving skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar; New York or New Jersey Bar admission is desirable.
