The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of state and federal court litigation experience, possess California Bar admission, demonstrate excellent academic and professional credentials, showcase superior research and writing ability, exhibit strong analytical skills, and have excellent communication skills. While clerkship experience is preferred, candidates must be admitted and actively barred in both the state where they reside and in California.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation matters related to consumer financial services in state and federal courts.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research, analysis, and case preparation to provide effective legal counsel.
  • Draft a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Appear in court to argue motions, attend hearings, and participate in trials.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop litigation strategies and objectives.
  • Offer legal advice and guidance on regulatory compliance within the consumer financial services industry.
  • Maintain organized case files, records, and documentation for efficient case management.
  • Stay informed about changes in consumer financial services laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of state and federal court litigation experience.
  • California Bar admission.
  • Excellent academic and professional credentials.
  • Superior research and writing ability.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Preferred: Clerkship experience.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the state where the candidate resides.
  • Active bar membership in California.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in state and federal court litigation.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Drafting legal documents and pleadings.
  • Courtroom representation and trial experience.
  • Knowledge of consumer financial services regulations.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with clients and colleagues.
