Attorney needed for Saint Louis office

A law firm in Saint Louis, MO is seeking an Attorney to provide legal advice and representation primarily in civil defense litigation. The attorney will be responsible for conducting legal research, negotiating on behalf of clients, drafting legal documents such as motions to compel, motions to dismiss, and motions for summary judgment, as well as representing clients in depositions and court proceedings.

Job Duties:

• Provide legal advice and representation in civil defense litigation matters.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support legal proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
• Draft various legal documents including motions, pleadings, briefs, and other court filings.
• Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and other court proceedings.
• Maintain communication with clients to provide updates and ensure case strategy alignment.
• Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff on case management.
• Ensure compliance with legal ethics and professional standards.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Missouri State Bar is required; admission to the Illinois Bar is preferred.
• Experience in civil defense litigation or related legal practice.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
• Experience negotiating and drafting a variety of legal documents.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
• Previous experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department is preferred.
