A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its team in Saint Louis, MO. This hybrid position is ideal for an ambitious litigator eager to take on increased responsibilities and grow within the firm. The attorney will play an active role in managing a diverse caseload, developing case strategies, and contributing to the firm’s success.

Duties:

  • Manage active caseloads with oversight and guidance from senior trial attorneys.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and legal research to support case development.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Take depositions and represent clients in court appearances.
  • Attend trials as second chair to lead counsel, with opportunities for increased involvement as skills develop.
  • Meet with clients to discuss case progress and strategies.
  • Contribute to the firm’s business development efforts and explore niche practice areas.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Missouri; Illinois licensure is a plus.
  • Strong research skills, particularly using Westlaw or similar legal research tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • JD from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Missouri.

Skills:

  • Ability to make informed case decisions and develop strategic plans.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A motivated self-starter with a commitment to client service and litigation.
  • Interest in developing a specialty niche practice or rainmaking capabilities is desirable but not mandatory.
