A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Immigration or International Human Rights Lawyer committed to safeguarding fundamental human rights. The role involves advocacy before international bodies such as the U.N. Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, U.S. federal and immigration courts, and Executive Branch agencies. The successful candidate will provide critical support to Partners, conduct research, develop case narratives, and engage regularly with clients.

 

Duties:

  • Advocacy before international human rights bodies, U.S. federal and immigration courts, and Executive Branch agencies
  • Conducting legal research and writing
  • Developing case narratives and theories
  • Regular interaction with clients
  • Meeting 100% hard (government) deadlines
  • Balancing commitment to pro bono work with paying clients
  • Ensuring quality control in all filings
  • Receiving positive feedback from clients and colleagues
  • Maintaining a positive attitude during change and unexpected circumstances
  • Expanding the Firm’s client base and reputation
  • Following objectives in individualized marketing plan
  • Promoting the Firm and self through marketing and networking efforts
  • Exemplifying the Firm’s values

 

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree
  • 4+ years of experience in international and/or immigration law

 

Preferred:

Foreign language skills, especially Spanish
