General Liability Defense Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a motivated General Liability Defense Associate Attorney to join its team in Orlando, FL. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1-6 years of experience to develop and manage a caseload in various areas of general liability defense, including auto and truck accident claims, premises liability, wrongful death, and negligent security claims. The successful candidate will work closely with senior attorneys and gain valuable litigation and courtroom experience in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of general liability defense matters, including auto and truck accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, and negligent security cases.
• Perform legal analysis on new and existing claims and develop case strategies.
• Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery requests and responses.
• Conduct and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Attend site inspections and accident scene investigations.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on trial preparation and assist with trials.
• Interact regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to ensure effective case management.

Requirements:

• 1-6 years of experience in general liability defense or related legal areas.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent negotiation and client communication abilities.
• Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
• Trial experience is a plus but not required.
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• An active member of the Florida State Bar, in good standing.
