Mid-level Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney

A law firm in Chicago is currently seeking a Mid-level Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney with a strong foundation in trusts and estates practice, particularly in gift and estate tax planning. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication, drafting, writing, and research skills, along with superior analytical and critical-thinking abilities.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis related to trusts and estates matters.
• Draft and review complex trust documents, wills, and estate planning instruments.
• Implement sophisticated trust planning strategies for clients.
• Provide legal counsel on gift and estate tax planning matters.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their unique needs and objectives.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting trusts and estates.

Requirements:

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• 3+ years of substantive experience in drafting and implementing sophisticated trust planning strategies.
• Business, financial, or tax qualifications such as LL.M., CFP, CPA, MBA, MST are preferred.
• Law Review or Business Law Journal experience is a plus.
