Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mid/Senior-Level Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join their team in Pittsburgh, PA. This role involves significant responsibility in handling employment litigation, administrative matters, and client counseling across various employment areas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in employment law with an emphasis on wage & hour, ADA, ADEA, class and collective action, Title VII, and Title IX. Traditional labor experience is a plus. The candidate must be admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle employment litigation cases from inception through resolution, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Manage administrative matters before government agencies such as the EEOC, DOL, and NLRB.
  • Provide comprehensive client counseling on various employment issues, including compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Advise clients on wage & hour issues, ADA compliance, ADEA considerations, and Title VII and Title IX issues.
  • Represent clients in class and collective action lawsuits.
  • Conduct internal investigations and audits to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and present training programs on employment law topics for clients.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys within the firm to provide holistic legal solutions to clients.
  • Stay abreast of current labor and employment law developments and advise clients accordingly.

Requirements:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • 4-7 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Proven experience in employment litigation and administrative matters.
  • Strong knowledge of wage & hour laws, ADA, ADEA, Title VII, and Title IX.
  • Experience handling class and collective actions.
  • Traditional labor experience is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • A high degree of professional ethics and integrity.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Strong litigation skills, including drafting and arguing motions.
  • Excellent negotiation and mediation skills.
  • Ability to provide practical and strategic legal advice to clients.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
