The ideal candidate will possess over 5 years of experience in handling complex insurance coverage issues under professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies. The role demands excellent academic credentials and proven expertise in legal research and writing.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal advice on insurance coverage matters, including professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret insurance policies to determine coverage and resolve disputes.
  • Draft and prepare comprehensive legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and produce detailed legal memoranda to support case strategies.
  • Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, drafting and arguing motions, conducting depositions, and representing clients in court.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to effectively handle cases and achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored legal solutions.
  • Keep abreast of developments in insurance law, including regulatory changes and relevant case law.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
  • Deep understanding of insurance coverage issues related to professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting legal documents, managing litigation, and representing clients effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar or eligibility to practice law in North Carolina.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior research and writing abilities, with a proven track record of producing high-quality legal documents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to manage complex litigation cases independently and efficiently.
