Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Litigation Associate to join its growing team in Coral Gables, FL. This role involves handling a diverse caseload focused on insurance defense and construction defect litigation. The ideal candidate will be a skilled litigator eager to develop their expertise in a fast-paced, high-profile legal environment. Working closely with an experienced Partner recognized as a leader in construction law, this position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing complex legal matters.

Duties

• Manage all aspects of litigation, from case initiation through resolution.

• Draft pleadings, legal motions, and other litigation documents.

• Conduct legal research to support case strategy.

• Handle discovery processes, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and depositions.

• Participate in site inspections, mediations, and settlement negotiations.

• Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and trials.

• Work collaboratively with senior attorneys and legal teams to ensure quality representation.

• Maintain clear and timely communication with clients regarding case progress.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in insurance defense or construction defect cases.

• Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

• Ability to manage multiple cases independently while meeting deadlines.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Florida and in good standing with the Florida Bar.

Skills

• Excellent research and legal writing capabilities.

• Strong negotiation and courtroom advocacy skills.

• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective case strategies.

• Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
