Job Overview:

A highly respected law firm is looking to hire a talented and motivated Product Liability and Class Action Litigation Associate for its Bloomfield Hills office. The firm’s esteemed practice group is seeking an attorney with 4-7 years of experience, ideally with a focus on defense in catastrophic injury cases. Experience within the automotive industry and e-discovery is a plus. This position offers a broad range of responsibilities including motion practice, discovery, trial preparation, and client interaction. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and oral advocacy skills and be able to manage complex cases with a keen eye for detail.

Location:

  • Bloomfield Hills, Michigan

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of case management, including fact investigation and discovery.
  • Participate in motion practice, brief writing, and preparing company witnesses for depositions.
  • Take and defend depositions, attend court appearances, and engage in client interaction.
  • Assist in trial preparation and participate in trial as needed.
  • Manage a high volume of cases with a focus on delivering quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and clients to develop legal strategies.

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in product liability and class action litigation.
  • Experience in defense work for catastrophic injury cases is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the automotive industry and e-discovery is a plus.
  • Admission to practice law in Michigan.
  • Strong written communication and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases and work under pressure.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from a fully accredited U.S. law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Michigan Bar membership (or the ability to be admitted to the Michigan Bar).

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
