Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated and driven Associate Attorney to join its legal team. Duties

  • Handle a caseload that includes family law, criminal law, business law, real estate law, and estate planning matters

  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents

  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

  • Assist in mediation and trial preparation, including strategy development and case organization

  • Participate in client consultations, intake, and case strategy sessions

  • Maintain accurate records of time spent on cases and communication with clients

  • Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and court proceedings

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff on complex cases

Requirements

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan (or will be eligible for licensure upon graduation in 2025)
