Associate Attorney needed for New York City office

A law firm in New York City is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with a background in transactional music law. The ideal candidate should be proficient in redlining and drafting agreements, capable of working independently, and possess strong communication skills.

Duties:

• Draft and negotiate a variety of music-related agreements, including artist agreements, licensing agreements, and distribution agreements.
• Conduct thorough legal research and provide analysis on transactional music law issues.
• Review and redline contracts with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing legal advice and guidance as needed.
• Manage client relationships and maintain regular communication to ensure client satisfaction.
• Assist senior attorneys in complex transactional matters related to the music industry.
• Stay updated on legal developments and trends in music law.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar (active and in good standing).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in transactional music law.
• Proficiency in redlining and drafting various music-related agreements.
• Experience in corporate law or intellectual property (IP) law is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Certifications:

Admission to the New York State Bar (required).
