Trust And Estate Planning Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Rochester, MN, seeks a Trust and Estate Planning Attorney to provide expert legal guidance in estate planning and probate matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning and probate law, with experience in drafting wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and will be capable of effectively representing clients in court proceedings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide clients with information and advice on retirement plans, charitable contributions, and insurance choices.
• Draft and file wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
• Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients.
• Assist clients by understanding their needs, analyzing situations, and strategizing appropriate courses of action.
• Communicate with clients regarding asset distribution plans and provide expert guidance.
• Collaborate with clients to develop and implement strategic asset distribution plans.
• Analyze legal situations and devise strategic action plans based on client needs.
• Manage various real estate matters, including title insurance, wills and trusts, property management, and litigation.
• Maintain excellent communication skills, especially in stressful and emotional situations.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
• 4-year undergraduate degree with a legal background.
• 1-2 years of experience working on estate planning and probate law issues in a law firm.
• 5+ years of experience in Minnesota estate planning and probate.
• Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA).
• Licensed to practice law in Minnesota, Iowa, or both.

Certifications and Licenses:

• Active license to practice law in Minnesota, Iowa, or both.
