A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join their San Francisco, CA office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment law, particularly in discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful discharge actions, along with experience in wage and hour law and class actions. This role demands high academic achievement, significant law firm experience, and excellent writing, drafting, and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent employers in employment law matters, including litigation and providing advice and counseling.
  • Handle cases involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful discharge.
  • Provide legal counsel on wage and hour law issues and manage class action litigation.
  • Draft and review various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare detailed legal analyses.
  • Advise clients on compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies for resolving disputes and preventing litigation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, track deadlines, and maintain organized case files.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to ensure effective legal representation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar.
  • 3+ years of experience in employment law matters, with at least 2 years specific to California.
  • Strong background in discrimination, retaliation, harassment law, and wrongful discharge actions.
  • Familiarity with wage and hour law and class action litigation.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent writing, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of academic achievement and law firm experience.
  • Proven ability to handle a diverse caseload and meet deadlines.
