Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Tampa is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join their Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex business litigation, including both state and federal courts. Responsibilities include managing discovery, drafting legal documents, conducting depositions, and participating in mediation and settlement negotiations. Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a J.D. from an ABA-approved law school and an active Florida Bar membership.

Duties:

• Manage complex business litigation cases in state and federal courts.
• Conduct and manage written and document discovery, including gathering and reviewing evidence.
• Research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
• Conduct and defend depositions, and prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Appear at status conferences and argue motions before the court.
• Participate in mediation, settlement conferences, and negotiations.
• Assist with arbitration or trial preparation, including strategy development and coordination with experts.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and practice groups within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience in business litigation.
• Experience with complex litigation, including discovery, deposition, and court appearances.
• Preferred experience with mediation, settlement conferences, arbitration, or trial preparation.
• AmLaw 100 experience is a plus.
• Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• J.D. from an ABA-approved law school.
• Active member in good standing of the Florida Bar.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership and good standing with the Florida Bar.

• Proven experience in complex business litigation and dispute resolution.

• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases and deadlines.
