Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking lateral to mid-level partner to join its growing private wealth and national trust practice within the business planning and tax section. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex and challenging matters for local, national, and international clients, specifically in federal estate and gift tax planning and representing institutional trustees. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse matters and develop expertise in trust and estate law. Delaware bar admission is preferred, though candidates willing to take the Delaware Bar Exam will also be considered.

Location:

  • Wilmington, Delaware

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on federal estate and gift tax planning matters
  • Represent institutional trustees, including in decantings, mergers, and non-judicial modifications
  • Work on a wide range of complex trust and estate matters for local, national, and international clients
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the business planning and tax section to deliver comprehensive solutions
  • Develop and manage client relationships, ensuring the highest level of service and legal expertise
  • Contribute to the growth and expansion of the private wealth and national trust practice

Requirements:

  • Lateral to mid-level experience in trust and estate law
  • Experience in federal estate and gift tax planning, as well as trustee representation
  • Experience with decantings, mergers, and non-judicial modifications of trusts
  • Delaware bar admission is preferred; candidates willing to take the Delaware Bar Exam will also be considered
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and provide high-quality service to clients
  • Strong communication, organizational, and client management skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction (Delaware bar preferred)

Skills:

  • Expertise in federal estate and gift tax planning
  • Experience representing institutional trustees in various legal matters
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
