Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Seattle, WA is seeking a skilled Trademark Associate to join its growing intellectual property practice, with a focus on trademark clearance and prosecution. This position is ideal for a candidate with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in trademark portfolio management, particularly involving U.S. and international trademark strategy. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential, as the role requires regular communication in both languages. The opportunity offers involvement in high-level advisory work for globally recognized brands, especially those in the entertainment sector.

Duties:

  • Manage domestic and international trademark portfolios for major clients

  • Conduct sophisticated trademark clearance searches and risk assessments

  • Draft and file trademark applications; respond to office actions and coordinate with foreign counsel

  • Advise clients on global filing strategies and trademark protection measures

  • Collaborate on complex prosecution matters and enforcement actions

  • Communicate with clients and colleagues in both English and Spanish

  • Guide branding, usage, and compliance related to trademark laws

  • Participate in strategy development with cross-border legal teams

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in trademark law

  • Demonstrated expertise in both U.S. and international trademark clearance and prosecution

  • Proven experience handling complex trademark portfolios and strategies

  • Ability to effectively manage a high-volume workload and multitask across matters

  • Familiarity with legal issues involving entertainment brands or media clients is a plus

  • Strong analytical and legal research skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Full professional fluency in both Spanish and English (written and spoken)

  • Exceptional legal writing and communication capabilities

  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Proficient in IP docketing and portfolio management systems
