A law firm in Fort Worth is seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their Immigration Team. This role involves managing a caseload, interacting with clients, and working collaboratively with attorneys and legal assistants. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in immigration law, possess effective communication skills, and be capable of managing a diverse range of immigration cases.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts to clients and develop strategic legal solutions.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload of immigration cases, ensuring timely and accurate handling of each case.
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications and supporting documents.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine appropriate legal strategies.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to assess potential case benefits and develop effective legal arguments.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar admission in Texas or pending (law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered).
  • At least 1 year of experience in immigration law, including work through internships, clinics, or other relevant roles.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian relief, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in Texas or pending.

  • Basic understanding of immigration law and procedures.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong client service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
