Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly motivated Finance and Restructuring Litigation Associate to join its Native American law practice. The position offers the opportunity to represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in complex legal matters, including issues surrounding tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination. This role also provides exposure to complex commercial and construction disputes. Candidates with 3 to 5 years of experience or a strong interest in Federal Indian Law and litigation are encouraged to apply.

Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in Native American law cases, including tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination.
  • Handle complex commercial and construction litigation matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Manage litigation from inception through trial.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
  • Collaborate with senior associates and partners to develop litigation strategies.
  • Provide detailed legal analysis and strategic counsel on matters of federal Indian law.
  • Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel to resolve legal issues.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in litigation, preferably with a focus on Federal Indian Law or related fields.
  • Strong background in litigation and administrative law.
  • Trial, deposition, hearing, and oral argument experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and trial skills.
  • Familiarity with Federal Indian Law and related areas.
  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
