Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney with a passion for litigation to join its team in San Antonio, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with at least three years of experience in handling diverse legal matters across state and federal courts. The successful candidate will be involved in business disputes, estate, and trust cases, as well as select personal injury matters. The firm fosters a collaborative environment where attorneys work closely with clients and gain hands-on experience in depositions, mediations, and trial preparation.

Duties

  • Represent clients in both state and federal courts, managing a variety of cases including business disputes, contract disagreements, estate and trust matters, and personal injury claims.
  • Conduct extensive legal research and draft detailed legal documents such as motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Participate in client consultations, providing legal advice, and discussing case strategies.
  • Take depositions, attend mediations, and represent clients in hearings and pre-trial conferences.
  • Assist in trial preparation and strategy, collaborating with senior attorneys and clients throughout the process.
  • Maintain organized case files and provide regular updates to clients regarding case progress.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience.
  • Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience handling complex cases in both state and federal court.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while working collaboratively with a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and legal research skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in using legal case management software.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus but not required.
