A law firm in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 1-4 years of general commercial litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to take depositions, argue motions or hearings in court, and try cases. The candidate must excel in legal research, writing, and analysis, and possess a collaborative spirit to work effectively in a team environment. The position requires a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and membership in The Florida Bar or the ability to promptly obtain admission in Florida.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies and case preparation.
  • Draft, review, and argue motions, pleadings, and other legal documents in court.
  • Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and manage discovery processes.
  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to develop case strategies and tactics.
  • Manage a caseload, ensuring deadlines and court dates are met.
  • Stay current with legal developments and changes in commercial litigation practices.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of general commercial litigation experience.
  • Strong desire to take depositions, argue motions or hearings in court, and try cases.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
