Job Overview

A prestigious law firm is seeking a mid to senior-level associate with 3+ years of experience to join its Employment Group. The role will support both cross-border and global employment matters, offering candidates the opportunity to work on international counseling, corporate transactions, employee terminations, restrictive covenants, and employee mobility. Interaction with multiple offices is essential as part of the firm’s global employment practice. The ideal candidate should be flexible, eager to learn, and possess transferable skills with a strong academic background from a well-regarded law school.

Duties

  • Conduct employment diligence and advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and related agreements.
  • Advise on reductions in force, employee terminations, and other workforce-related matters.
  • Draft restrictive covenants and provide counsel on employee mobility.
  • Provide advice to emerging companies on all aspects of employment law.
  • Collaborate with various offices in the firm’s global employment practice.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in employment counseling (domestic and/or international).
  • Experience in an AmLaw 100 law firm preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with teams.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction where applying.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Good business judgment and a practical approach to legal issues.
  • Excellent research and conceptual thinking skills.
