A law firm seeks a compassionate and skilled Family Law Attorney to join their team in Chester, NJ. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling complex family law cases, including child custody, divorce, alimony, child support, prenuptial agreements, and real estate issues related to marital property. The position requires a strong ability to manage emotionally charged situations while effectively advocating for clients. Duties:

  • Provide legal representation for clients in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, domestic violence, and child abuse.
  • Assist in the negotiation and drafting of prenuptial agreements and marital settlement agreements.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including motions, pleadings, judgments, contracts, and orders.
  • Advocate for clients in court during hearings and trials, presenting cases and providing legal advice.
  • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, in divorce proceedings.
  • Keep client files organized and up to date, and ensure confidentiality.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to clients, helping them understand legal options and navigate sensitive family matters.

Requirements:

  • Proven success in family law, with experience handling both contentious and amicable divorce proceedings, child custody, and other family matters.
  • Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, particularly in high-stress and emotionally charged environments.
  • Experience working with real estate law, specifically determining marital property during divorce proceedings.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with clients, showing empathy and sensitivity to their needs.
  • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA).
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage multiple cases, and meet deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to advocate effectively in court.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents related to family law, such as pleadings, motions, and agreements.
  • Strong negotiation skills, particularly in family law disputes.
  • Experience with real estate law as it pertains to marital property division.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
