A law firm seeks a reliable and enthusiastic Hearing Coverage Attorney to join its team, primarily working remotely from Dallas, TX. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in pre-trials, trials, mediations, and other court appearances, supporting the firm's litigation efforts in a dynamic and high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal setting.

Duties:

  • Represent the firm at pre-trial hearings, trials, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
  • Provide hearing coverage for attorneys who are unavailable due to scheduling conflicts.
  • Manage and track case progress, ensuring deadlines are met and case details are accurately documented.
  • Prepare and review case files, motions, and other legal documents in preparation for hearings and trials.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure all aspects of the case are managed effectively.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel regarding case updates and schedules.
  • Work independently, managing competing priorities while maintaining high-quality legal work.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas.
  • Prior court experience preferred, particularly in handling hearings or trial coverage.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced legal environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple cases efficiently.
  • Proficient in using computer and word processing programs, as well as legal software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas is required.

Skills:

  • Experience with pre-trial, trial, and mediation procedures.
  • Strong research, writing, and drafting skills for legal documents.
  • Ability to manage high caseloads while maintaining attention to detail.
