Associate Attorney - Debt Collection & Creditors Rights

Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an entry-level Associate Attorney to join its Fort Lauderdale, FL office. This role offers a unique opportunity for recent law school graduates to launch their legal careers in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in debt collection, creditor’s rights, and various litigation matters while working closely with experienced attorneys in a supportive team setting.

Duties:

• Review and analyze legal documents, identifying critical details that influence case strategy.
• Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
• Represent clients in court hearings, presenting cases with confidence and professionalism.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing guidance and timely updates on case progress.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support ongoing cases and ensure client interests are well represented.
• Manage case files, ensuring all documents are organized, and up-to-date, and actions are executed promptly.
• Engage in settlement negotiations, aiming to secure favorable resolutions for clients.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to research complex legal issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proactive, with a collaborative approach to legal practice.
• Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to achieve favorable outcomes.
• No prior legal experience required—open to recent graduates.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar in good standing.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal document management software.
• Familiarity with Adobe/Nuance Power PDF or similar PDF software.
• Comfortable using and adapting to new technologies and legal tools.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
