Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Charlotte, North Carolina. Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare relevant memoranda.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Represent clients in motion hearings, mediations, trials, and arbitrations.
  • Collaborate across practice groups on various legal matters.
  • Handle cases in construction litigation and e-discovery (preferred).
  • Travel as required for court appearances and client meetings.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina (mandatory).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated, confident, and team-oriented.
  • Preferred: 2-3 years of litigation experience (open to candidates with varying experience levels).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina.

Skills

  • Legal research and writing proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage case files.
  • Familiarity with construction litigation and e-discovery (preferred).
