Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its Creditors’ Rights practice in Wisconsin. This position involves handling civil court hearings across the state, preparing legal documents, conducting research, and negotiating settlements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to excelling in a specialized legal field.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in 5 to 15 civil court hearings weekly, both virtually and in person.

  • Draft and review legal pleadings and documents.

  • Conduct thorough legal research to support the case strategy.

  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and other parties.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Collaborate with the managing attorney to report on case progress and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Strong work ethic and dependability in a fast-paced legal environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to analyze data, compile reports, and interpret legal requirements.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows, and legal research tools such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Wisconsin (additional licenses in Montana, Ohio, Indiana, or Michigan are a plus).

  • Moral fitness and eligibility to practice law.
