A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join a growing team in Charlotte, NC. The Family Law Attorney will manage a variety of cases, working both independently and in collaboration with other attorneys and staff.

Duties

• Analyze client situations and legal needs to develop a strategic plan of action
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, and judgments
• Manage the division of marital assets and handle high-volume case work
• Attend court hearings as necessary to represent clients effectively
• Collaborate with other attorneys, particularly the Managing Attorney, to move cases through the litigation process
• Engage in client consultations to assess needs and determine next steps
• Oversee matter management to ensure timely progress in all cases
• Review legal documents for clarity and accuracy, ensuring they comply with case law
• Organize and maintain client files to ensure up-to-date information
• Advocate for clients by developing and executing a tailored legal strategy
• Travel locally for mediations, depositions, and court appearances

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in family law
• North Carolina law license
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, particularly in stressful situations
• Strong ability to analyze complex legal issues and offer strategic solutions
• Proficiency in legal billing and time tracking for cases
• Flexibility and ability to work across multiple office locations when needed
• Self-starter with the ability to manage priorities independently
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to represent clients professionally and compassionately in all situations

Education

• 4-year degree with a legal background
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

Certifications

• North Carolina Bar License
