Job Overview: A law firm seeks a highly motivated Associate Immigration Attorney to join its team in Houston, TX. This role involves managing a wide range of immigration cases from start to finish, including courtroom appearances, case preparation, and collaboration with clients. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of immigration law experience, strong legal writing skills, and the ability to work independently while providing excellent client service.

Duties:

  • Manage client cases through all phases of the immigration process.
  • Draft and submit legal motions, including motions to continue, motions for bond, motions to reopen, and cancellation of removal.
  • Prepare and submit applications for USCIS such as naturalization, marriage-based applications, removal of conditions, and asylum.
  • Draft responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs).
  • Handle employment-based immigration cases, including EB1, EB2 NIW, EB2 with labor certifications, EB3, H1B, L1A, and investor visas such as E2 and L1.
  • Attend immigration court for bond hearings, master calendar hearings, and individual merits hearings.
  • Attend USCIS interviews and represent clients during critical stages of their cases.
  • Develop and assess legal strategies tailored to each client’s unique situation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Ability to manage cases independently from beginning to end.
  • Experience in brief writing and legal motions.
  • Strong knowledge of family-based immigration, asylum, and cancellation of removal.
  • Experience appearing in immigration court and attending USCIS interviews.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple cases efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to maintain positive client relationships.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work effectively in an office setting.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar license (Texas preferred).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and case management.
  • Fluent in Arabic or Spanish (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to client success.
