A law firm in Salt Lake City, UT, seeks an Investment Fund Group Associate Attorney. This position requires a proactive and knowledgeable professional with a strong fund formation and investment management foundation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advising clients on the structuring, formation, and management of various investment funds.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on the formation and structuring of private equity, real estate, credit, venture funds, and Business Development Companies (BDCs).
  • Provide counsel on fund management matters and related regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Assist in negotiating and drafting fund agreements and other related legal documents.
  • Participate in GP stake sales and handle secondary transactions.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals in cross-disciplinary teams to provide comprehensive client solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience and outstanding credentials in fund formation, investment management, or a related field.
  • 2-6 years of professional legal experience, specifically in private equity funds, real estate funds, credit funds, venture funds, or related areas.
  • Experience in GP stake sales, secondary transactions, or general corporate law will be considered.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Utah or eligibility for reciprocity.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Membership in good standing with the Utah State Bar, or ability to gain membership.

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and manage multiple projects.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
