Job Overview: A law firm in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Project Finance Counsel or Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will be able to work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers in a collaborative environment focused on clean energy and climate solutions sectors. They will assume a high level of responsibility and client contact, working with companies ranging from start-ups to leading international infrastructure investors.

Duties:

  • Engage in substantial transactional work focusing on project and/or structured asset-based finance and non-recourse lending transactions.
  • Represent sponsors, borrowers, lenders, or investors in the renewable energy industry, including those with expertise in asset-backed securitization or asset-backed lending.
  • Provide expertise in tax equity in solar, wind, and energy storage project assets, adjacent projects, or structured financing areas such as asset-based debt or securitizations.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements and contracts.
  • Collaborate with the team on various legal matters related to renewable energy projects and portfolios.

Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of substantial transactional experience at a major law firm.
  • Experience in project finance and/or structured asset-based finance.
  • Experience in the renewable energy industry preferred.
  • Strong drafting and negotiating skills.
  • Superior academic credentials.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in project finance and structured asset-based finance.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy industry practices.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
