Job Title: Lateral Tax Associate Attorney

Duties:

  • Provide high-quality legal advice and analysis on a broad range of tax-related matters, including M&A, investment funds, real estate, and capital markets transactions.
  • Support clients in structuring and implementing complex business transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Draft legal documents, including agreements, memoranda, and filings, related to tax and business transactions.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and clients, taking a proactive role in project management and legal strategy.
  • Engage in public speaking at tax conferences and participate in firm-wide presentations.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships, providing exceptional service and timely advice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to solve novel and challenging legal issues.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in tax law, particularly in M&A, private equity, capital markets, or investment fund formation.
  • 3-5 Years of Experience.
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations and ability to apply them to complex, multi-faceted business transactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical thinking, creative problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to a collegial and supportive workplace culture.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Law school class years 2020 to 2022 preferred.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in the District of Columbia or eligibility to obtain admission upon hire.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
