Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced and driven Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney to join its fully remote team, based in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of commercial litigation experience, with the ability to independently handle all aspects of litigation, from drafting pleadings to courtroom representation. This is a fully remote position with flexibility, but occasional in-person appearances for depositions, hearings, and trials in the Charlotte area are required. Duties:

  • Manage all stages of commercial litigation, including drafting and filing pleadings and motions
  • Conduct and defend depositions, manage discovery, and respond to discovery requests
  • Represent clients in courtroom proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediations
  • Develop and implement effective litigation strategies to meet client goals
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing legal counsel and updates
  • Collaborate with team members on case strategy and decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements

Requirements:

  • Admitted to the North Carolina Bar, in good standing
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial litigation, including court appearances, depositions, and managing case strategies
  • Strong proficiency with Mac OS, Adobe, Outlook, Zoom, Microsoft Word, and other relevant office technology
  • Reside in the greater Charlotte metro area with the ability to attend in-person proceedings as required
  • Ability to work effectively from a home office, managing workload and client communications independently

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active North Carolina license to practice law

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and case management skills, with a proven track record of handling complex commercial litigation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to think creatively and develop unique legal strategies to meet client objectives
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
